Project Introduction:
Located at West Kowloon Reclamation Area with an area of 40-hectare, the
WKCD is developing an integrated arts and cultural district with world-class facilities
and iconic architecture for locals and tourists. It is one of the world’s largest
and most ambitious arts and cultural building programmes that will deliver up to
17 cultural and arts facilities, open spaces, education, commercial and retail facilities
as part of a new cultural hub being developed with funding from the HKSAR Government.
There are more than 70% of MEP installations by DfMA or MIMEP design and
hot-work-free installation methodology to achieve high safety and quality performance.
With the introduction of DCS and other sustainable features, it will serve as a
showcase of Hong Kong with long-term sustainability. Estimated design capacity of
DCS plant is 70MW. The master plan of WKCD DCS Central chiller plant of WKCD DCS
is allocated in the basement by integrating with the master planning of the district.
The chilled water will be distributed to the DCS customer substation by a 2-pipe
ring circuit with different sizes of 3-pipe tee-off chilled water pipe connection
housed inside specified services corridor or trench in the basement. The DCS pipe
network will be extended by phases to follow the pragmatic approach of the WKCD
development.
