Programme Highlight:
Grid‑Visualisation (Grid‑V) is an AI‑powered monitoring and management system developed by CLP Power Hong Kong to enhance the reliability, resilience, and safety of Hong Kong’s electricity supply network. To address growing challenges from extreme weather, environmental factors, and external interference, Grid‑V consolidates real‑time data from approximately 3,000 sensors and cameras installed across CLP’s infrastructure—including substations, high‑voltage switchgear, overhead lines, transmission corridors, and active worksites.
The centralised online platform provides engineers with live video feeds and sensor data, enabling the detection of abnormal conditions and threats such as environmental hazards—including smoke, fires, and flooding—as well as external disruptions from cranes, drones, kites, or nearby construction activities. AI technology is used to proactively identify potential risks and anomalies, further enhancing supply reliability and worksite safety.
Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the system through an introductory session and visit the Grid‑V & Condition Monitoring Centre, which serves as a physical hub where engineers monitor real‑time data and video feeds from the Grid‑V platform.
