Webinar: Safety Consideration and Particular Concerns in Heavy Lifting Plant Examination

Professional Background of the Speaker:
Ir KL Ho, having been working in mechanical industry for about 30 years. He was continuously serving in a foundation specialist contractor for 25 years to handle all the examination and certification of mechanical plants, especially in heavy lifting plants. Now he is the plant manager in a famous main contractor (over 2,000 employees) to manage the company resources of over 10 billion dollars construction plants and equipment in construction sites and also maintenance workshops.

Ir Ho is an experienced registered professional engineer in “Technical design”, “Fabrication”, “Modification”, “Trouble shooting”, “Maintenance & repair”, “Installation” and “Testing & commissioning” of wide range of construction plants. And he is also the chief of plant department to work with the corporate safety management system to provide safety training to in-house employees and also technical advice in establishing safety rules and instruction to guide plants operation safety.

In addition, Ir Ho is the mentor of the Mechanic and electrician apprentices training scheme in this company; and one of safety committees to handle accident investigation.

Programme Highlights:
Having reviewed and analyzed all the fatal accidents and serious injuries in construction industry, unsafe lifting operation and malfunctional machineries are both common cause and media. To avoid such accident happening, this technical talk would introduce the basic knowledge and particular skills in checking, inspecting and exanimating heavy construction plants before certification. Site safety rules of operation and maintenance is also included to be shared to improve the safety performance of site activities. Furthermore, there is a review of some industrial accident cases resulting from heavy lifting operation, with accident analysis and safety mitigation measures in the final part of talk as a conclusion.

CPD Certificate: 
Electronic copy of CPD Certificate will be delivered to participants (who have attended for more than half of the session) within one month after the online forum conducted.
